. Basically, as Kesame has explained, this isn't a regulated thing, we don't keep track of everyone and make sure they're using the characer, we aren't a RP group. In Depth on the Clan
The Yasarugi Clan
Founded a few hundred years after the Genko Familiy founded the Osusuki Clan, the Yasarugi clan was originally comprised of ONLY Tanuki. Early on they established a close friendship with the Osusuki Clan, creating a close and long-lasting alliance between the two clans. Of course, nowdays the Yasarugi Clan allows any species that is willing to accept their ways to join it's ranks.
Basic Codes
The Yasarugi Clan was founded on the raw beliefs of Loyalty and Honor, harshly punishing any who refuse to put aside their differences and get along. They believe that by being able to cooperate as many species, they are proving that anything is possible. Dispite their use of harsh punishments, the clan is very much a peaceful clan, many of them being skilled healers or artists. Their role as allies to the Osusuki Clan is to provide them with any information they pick up on the enemies of the fox clan, as well as with supplies and safe havens if they need them.
Structure
Like the Osusuki Clan, the Yasarugi clan operates under the rule of central figures of command, only unlike the foxes, they are led by three individuals. The youngest of these, and the one considered the most poswerful and respected is Giri, the Tanuki, who is in charge of general relations with their allies. The other two are Chuugi the Serpent (handles the gathering of information and supplies) and Ikei the Crane (handles the running of safe havens and the hospitals the clan owns.)
Under the two leaders directly are the heads of the families within the group, and then their subordinates (organized into: Healers, Information Gatherers, Suppliers and generalized Helping Hands).
Setting
Like the Osusuki Clan the Tasarugi clan is based in Japan, but they do have allies to their group as well as families within the clan that come from other countries. This is modern 21st Century times.
Families
Sessou
The original founders of the Clan, the Sessou family is a respectable Tanuki family. They are known to have a talent for words and negotiations, and a member of the family has always been at the head of the Clan.
Personality: Generally they are very level-headed, quick thinkers who like nothing more than to see peace prevail. They are good at resolving bad situations with nothing but their words and wit. Sessou family members are usually very reasonable and kind people.
Appearance: In general Sessou family members tend to look very regal, well-dressed and groomed. They are a noble family, and won't easily let it be forgotten, even if they have mellowed out a great deal.
Other Information: No family member who isn't of direct decendance from the original family can ever hope to gain the highest ranks of the family.
Chuusei
The cunning family of snakes known as Chuusei is known for their brilliance and ability to be very trustworthy. They are good on their word, and will always deliver what they've been asked to deliver.
Personality: Reliable and smart, they are considered even quicker and skilled in thinking than even the Sessou Tanuki's. They are brave and commanding, and are known to be good to their word.
Appearance: Generally the Chuusei snakes look very buisness-like and serious, altho' some will dress a little more light-hearted.
Other Information: They are the most accepting of non-blood related members to their family. They will also accept those of non-snake species into the family.
Sonchou
Thought to be decendants of air spirits, they are a family of birds, mostly cranes. They are the healing masters of the clan, and are in charge of running the clan's few hospitals. They are taught from an early age the most ancient and effective healing methods, and are also taught to be kind and gentle, with open hearts and minds.
Personality: Tend to be soft spoken and calm, they only speak if needed. Their words and actions work to comfort those around them, and their voices can set anyone at ease. In general they have a very sympathetic heart, and a strong will to want to help anyone in need. They are generous and kindly.
Appearance: Generally very slender and gentle-looking, they are well groomed, but dress modestly. They are usually not very flashy or flambouyant in appearance.
Other Information: The Sonchou family's highest positions are almost always occupied by females, as they have a very matriarchal sturcture to the family. They will accept any species, but are mostly birds.
Rules and Restrictions
All members of the Yasarugi clan MUST be anthro animals of the non-fox or lynx species. Male or female, can be of any age, but keep in mind they are more likely to be seen as useful if they are older. If you are creating a member of one of the main families, be sure you have at least one trait in common for their personality or look, and make sure they are of a species that the family accepts. We do not allow any supernatural or mythological creatures into the Yasarugi clan, and suggest you stick to natural colorations and markings. The Cranes of Sonchou are not actually related in any way to air spirits, it is part of the family myths and legends.
Creating a New Family
You are more than welcome to create a new family if you have a character in mind that doesn't seem like they'd fit into any of the pre-set families. Just get some information for them like how I've set up the information on the main families, and put it up in your journal (be sure to link me to it, I'd love to see it).
Creating Allies/Enemies
You are also welcomed to create an ally or enemy to the Yasarugi clan if you want to. Just be sure to show me the information on it, I'd love to see it.
